Résumé | On one hand, biological network mining is an essential approach for the inspection of differential analysis expression profiles. On the other hand, for experimental purposes, molecular profiles measurements are often performed on model organisms and are not immediately transferable to other species, such as human.
In this presentation, we are going to introduce a new mathematical model that enables us to discover subnetworks of high differential activity across two species. Our model uses a flexible approach to conservation, which is the key to our results. We introduce a new graph-theoretical problem that we call Maximum-Weight Cross-Connected Subgraph and show that it is an APX-hard problem. Finally, we will present our Mixed-Integer Programming solver implementation for our model: xHeinz.
