TitreNew Challenges for Multimedia Big Data
RésuméTwo unique paradigms may be revolutionary for big data. The WWW was invented to create a Web of documents about 25 years ago. The 21st century began with a major disruption: Photos are the new “documents.” Photos and videos communicate directly, without the need for language or literacy. We urgently need a new type of web to navigate this ever-increasing global repository of knowledge and experiences. This Visual Web offers opportunities to address new societal issues and solve many difficult yet unsolved problems. The second challenging problem is to connect needs of people to appropriate resources efficiently, effectively, and promptly. Availability of enormous volumes of heterogeneous Cyber-Physical-Social (CPS) data streams allows design and implementation of networks to detect situations as they evolve. Such systems are very useful for solving many important problems. We are developing an approach towards building social life network that are first step towards building such smart social systems that connect needs to resources. In this presentation I will discuss implications of Visual Web and Social Life Networks in emerging applications.
