A priority map sounds more plausible<\/li>\n<li>Visual attention may be a reason for feedback pathways, as it would trigger enhanced processing in the attended region (top-down progression).<\/li>\n<li>Attention optimizes and controls search tasks used for recognition, suppression, restriction and selection.<\/li>\n<li>Perceptual organization principles are more tendencies than laws\u2026<\/li>\n<li>Classic approach: a bunch of features, center-surround constrasted and combined, finalized by a winner-take-all mechanism.<\/li>\n<li>Center-surround around fixation point improves SNR locally<\/li>\n<li>Visual attention may be well described by the sequence: detection then localization then fixation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Visual attention depends on the assigned task, on the inhibition of return, and the integration of overt and covert attention (using saccades or not).
