About Me

My name is Francieli Zanon Boito and I'm an associate professor (maître de conférences, a permanent faculty position) at the Université de Bordeaux, in France, since 2019. I teach at the Informatics department of the Collège Sciences et Technologies, and I'm a researcher at the LaBRI laboratory and Inria Bordeaux, in the SATANAS department, TADaaM team.

I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2015 from the Université Grenoble Alpes, in France, and the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil.

Research

My main research interests are in the field of high-performance computing, in parallel I/O, parallel file systems, and storage and data access in general.

Teaching

  • Since 2021-2022, I'm the responsible for the "Networks and Protocols" (Réseaux et Protocoles) course of the Masters in Informatics.

  • Since 2020-2021, I'm the responsible for the "Introduction to C Programming" (Initiation à la Programmation C sous Unix) course, mandatory to first-year undergrad students.

  • Since 2020-2021, I'm in charge of the "Tools for Data Processing" (Supports pour le traitement de données) course of the Masters in High-Performance Computing and Data Science. This course is about big data tools and discusses Hadoop, MapReduce, HDFS, Spark, NoSQL databases, etc.

  • I currently participate in teaching other courses such as Linux System Programming (Programmation Système, since 2021-2022), Programming at Large Scale (Programmation Large Échelle, another big data course, since 2019-2020), and Computer Architecture (Architectures des Ordinateurs, since 2019-2020).
