During the Horizon Forum (Bordeaux VideoGames Forum), I had the pleasure of participating in a round table discussion on the topic of Ethics & Regulation AI. These subjects are increasingly presented in relation to Trust issues (which says a lot about the progress we need to make in explaining their functioning, as this is typically not something we ask of other technologies).
We discussed various ethical challenges of AI deployment, from the construction of these systems (and how data is collected) to future uses (their impact on jobs). Many questions were also raised about the regulation of these tools and the impact of regulation on the development of these tools and the sovereignty of countries.

I had the opportunity to discuss with Tristan Cazenave (Laboratoire LAMSADE, Université Paris Dauphine-PSL) and Kevin Kok-Heang (AI project manager within the Directorate-General for Enterprises). Thanks to the organization of these days at the Opéra National de Bordeaux, I was able to attend a rehearsal of the opera members and enjoy a conference ending on the rooftops of the opera. Thanks again to the organizers for the exchanges and this wonderful “after”.
