AI and Training: From University to the Professional World

With Juliette MATTIOLI, Expert Fellow in AI at Thalès, we had the pleasure of presenting, in two hours, the challenges of AI for training (both in initial training and corporate training), before answering a few questions. This conference, broadcast live on YouTube from the amphitheater of the Cité des Sciences (La Villette), was organized by the Air and Space Academy, in collaboration with Universcience.

The issue of “AI training” and “AI for training” is an increasingly important societal question at all levels of education. In my engineering school, most teachers agree that we need to act quickly but, above all, coherently and without prejudice.

In my presentation, after the now customary task of defining what AI is (and why we must be careful not to believe everything we hear), I was able to refer to some work on the impacts of using (mainly generative AI) in the context of studies. The bibliography is extensive, and it is a full-fledged interdisciplinary research topic. It was therefore quite fascinating for me to confront my preconceptions as an AI researcher and teacher with published studies.

The roundtable selfie

I emphasize this a lot (I often repeat it), but how can we make this incredible innovation (generative AI systems) a true societal progress?

For those who want to know more, I recommend starting with:

And if you feel like it, you can also watch the replay of the presentation.
