It’s always a pleasure to visit colleagues at CRIL in Lens. Today, it was for the PhD defense of Marie Miceli, for which I was appointed jury president.
Her thesis is in propositional logic, a fundamental and highly competitive research area.
Her manuscript starts with the search for soft cores in logical formulas to extend them to the definition of Weighted Max#SAT
, with possible applications in the context of decision explainability in AI.
It’s sincerely a pleasure to see new theses in the SAT domain, to meet PhD students at JFPC every year, and then to see them successfully defend their work! It’s also always fascinating to see how the problems arising from this field have so many implications when one is demanding with AI tools.
Thank you again for the invitation and congratulations on the presentation, a model of its kind!
