HEterogeneity and Routing Algorithms in networks (HERA)

Description

The HERA project aims to study heterogeneous (or multi-layer) network objects where several protocols coexist. Classical routing algorithms do not work on such networks due to their heterogeneity. The project goal is to study the theoretical aspects of these networks, to design a random topology generator, to develop distributed routing algorithms automatizing tunnel establishments, and to specify corresponding protocols allowing the communication in such networks.

The main goal of the HÉRA project is to lay the theoretical and algorithmic foundations of path computation in heterogeneous and multi-layer networks by handling (nested) tunnels, then, capitalizing on these theoretical advances, to design reliable and efficient scaling routing protocols. These protocols will allow effective communication in large-scale heterogeneous networks, especially those involving connected objects. We can summarize the project objectives as following:

This project was funded by The French National Research Agency - HERA project. Grant no.: ANR-18-CE25-0002.
