Jenny Benois-Pineau is a full professor of Exceptional Class in Computer science at the University Bordeaux and chair of Video Analysis and Indexing research subject in Image and Sound Department, TAD of LABRI UMR 58000 Université Bordeaux/CNRS/IPB-ENSEIRB. She has been a deputy scientific director of theme B of French national research unity GDR CNRS ISIS (2008 - 2015),cotinues research animation as a co-chair of special action on Explainable Artificial Intelligence for Image and Signals, and is now a chair of international relations at School of Sciences and Technologies at University Bordeaux. She obtained her PhD degree in Signals and Systems abroad and her Habilitation à Diriger la Recherche (Habilitus) in Computer Science and Image Processing from University of Nantes France. Her topics of interest include image and video analysis and indexing, artificial intelligence for pattern recognition in image, video and multimodal data She is the author and co-author of more than 200 papers in international journals, conference proceedings, books and book chapters (Springer, Willey, Hermès). She has tutored an co-tutored 25 PhD students and 22 research masters. She is associated editor of EURASIP Signal Processing:Image Communication, Elsevier, Multimedia Tools and applications, Springer, journals and has been senior editor of JEI SPIE since 2018. She has served in numerous program committees in international conferences and workshops: ACM MM, CIVR, ICIP, ICMCE, CBMI, AMR, IPTA, SAMT, ECMCS,ICMR,MMM,...

She has served as expert for European Commission since FP4 and was a member of Technical Advisory group for Media programme EACEA DG Culture, CE. She was a member of Multimedia Commission of French Ministry of National Education(1198-2016) and is a member of scientific board of International Center for Mathematical Modelling at the University of Växjo, Sweden. She is invited as sceintific expert for ANR and ANRT French research agencies. She is elected IEEE TC IVMSP member for the period of 2018-2023 She has been coordinator or leading researcher in international research projects Platon, Balaton, FP6 IP XMedia, FP7 IP Dem@care, French representative in COST292 European action, national research projects of ANR, CNRS and numerous projects with French industrial companies. She is Knight of Academic Palms for her contribution into Research and Teaching
