Enumerating Answers to Ontology-Mediated Queries

Speaker: Carsten Lutz, Professor at University of Leipzig

Abstract:

Ontology-mediated querying is an approach to querying incomplete data where an ontology is used to
inject domain knowledge, often enabling more complete answers to queries. In this presentation,
I report about recent joint work with Marcin Przybylko that concerns the enumeration of answers to
ontology-mediated queries with linear preprocessing and constant delay. In particular, I will consider
ontologies that are sets of guarded TGDs and answers that may involve wildcards.
