The French Academy of Sciences, in partnership with the SIF (Société informatique de France), has awarded the Lovelace-Babbage prize in the "Mechanical Sciences Prize" category to Fabien Lotte. Fabien Lotte designs brain-computer interfaces (BCIs), which make it possible to interact with a computer solely by means of brain activity. He develops algorithms for decoding brain signals and optimises human training for controlling ICOs. He has been coordinator of various research projects on ICOs, such as the ANR REBEL and PROTEUS and the ERC BrainConquest.
