Jean-Rémy Falleri appointed junior member at the IUF (Institut Universitaire de France)

As of 1 October 2020, and for a period of 5 years, Jean-Rémy Falleri's subject of study will focus on the control and management of the evolution of software systems, as well as the reduction of maintenance costs related to these systems.

His study topic: Controlling the evolution of software systems is a difficult problem that costs the software industry millions of dollars. At the heart of evolution is the ability to quickly understand changes between releases. Current approaches only cover changes in a system's source code, which is not enough. This project aims to develop an approach capable of calculating a "behavioural difference" between two versions of a software system. It should enable developers around the world to better manage software evolution and reduce the maintenance costs of software systems.
