During the COMPAS 2025 conference, the best poster prize was awarded to Dimitri Walther, who is in the 1st year of his thesis in the TOPAL team in collaboration with CEA CESTA. His work focuses on hierarchical graph partitioning for H-matrix compression.

COMPAS 2025 is a French-speaking conference focusing on parallelism, architecture and systems.

Attendance was particularly high this year, with over 170 participants.

In the context of numerical simulation in electromagnetism, his work explores the link between the partitioning of a complex object and the compression ratio of the corresponding H-matrix. The aim of the thesis is to develop efficient and scalable hierarchical partitioners to optimize H-matrix compression.
